‘Kim Dan-bi’s 34 points’ leads defending champion Woori Bank to 76:64 win over Shinhan Bank

Defending champion Asan Woori Bank opened the 2024-2025 regular season with a win.

Woori Bank, led by head coach Lee Sati-woo, defeated Incheon Shinhan Bank 76-64 on the road in the Hana Bank 2024-2025 Women’s Professional Basketball Regular Season at the Dowon Gymnasium in Incheon on Monday.

Woori Bank lost a number of key players after winning the 파워사다리 championship last season.

Park Hye-jin moved to Busan BNK, Choi Yi-sam to Shinhan Bank, and Na Yoon-jung to Cheongju KB, while Park Ji-hyun decided to go overseas and is currently playing in the New Zealand League.

Woori Bank, however, was led offensively by last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) Kim Dan-bi, who scored 34 points in the championship game, and Han Um-ji, who has been in a Woori Bank jersey since the start of the season, recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Shinhan Bank, which played its home opener, was led by Rika Tanimura, the No. 1 overall pick in the Asian quarterfinals, with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while fellow transfer Jihyun Shin added 14 points and seven assists.

Against Chinjung, Shinhan Bank’s Choi Yi-sam had six points and six rebounds, while Shinhan Bank’s No. 1 overall draft pick, Hong Yoo-soon, played 8:42 minutes without scoring and had one rebound and one assist.
