Accordingly, in the figure skating team event at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics,
the United States, which ranked second, will take the gold medal, and Japan,
which placed third, will take the silver medal.
However, the ISU announced that it would maintain the scores of other Russian Olympic Committee athletes other than Valieva.
The Russian Olympic Committee only gave Valieva 0 points for the women’s single short program and free skating.
Men’s Short-Free, Pair Short-Pair, and Ice Dance Rhythm Dance-Free Dance scores were added to the calculation.

As a result, the Russian Olympic Committee received a bronze medal with 54 points,
one point ahead of 4th place Canada (53 points).
The ISU’s decision also changes the overall rankings for the Beijing Olympics.
The United States rose to third place in the overall ranking with 9 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals,
surpassing China (9 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals).
Russia opposed the CAS decision and announced its intention to appeal.
CAS’ decision may also change depending on the Swiss Federal Supreme Court ruling.
The ISU announced that Valieva’s fourth-place finish in women’s singles at the Beijing Olympics and her qualification to win the 2022 ISU European Championships will also be revoked.
Her world record score of 90.45 in the short program, which Valiyeva set at her European Championships, was also obliterated.
CAS said on the 29th that it was acknowledged that Valieva violated the International Olympic Committee (IOC) anti-doping rules at the Beijing Olympics and suspended her as an athlete for four years from December 2021 to December 2025.
She also decided to strip Russia of her gold medal in the figure skating team event at the Beijing Olympics, which Kamila Valieva helped her win.
