KBO appoints Oh Seok-hwan as new chairman

The Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) announced today that it has appointed Future Umpire Development Commissioner Oh Seok-hwan as its new chairman.

Oh joined the KBO as an umpire in 1990 and served as a KBO League umpire until 2013. He then served as the KBO Future Umpire Development Committee from 2014 to 2023.

Meanwhile, the umpire committee held its first winter training for five days from December 4 to 8 last year. The training focused on adapting to the pitch clock and ABS, which are new to the KBO this season.
