Joo Hyung Kim
(21, Nike Golf) jumped nine strokes into a share of the lead after the third round of the U.S. Professional
Golf Association (PGA) Tour’s Shriners Hospitality Open ($8.4 million purse) and is looking for his second straight victory.
Kim carded an eagle, nine birdies and two bogeys for a 9-under 62 in the third round of the tournament
at TPC Summerlin (Par 71) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on Friday (July 15).
His 15-under 198 total puts him in a three-way tie for the lead with Adam Hadwin (CAN) and Lanto Griffin (USA).
Last year’s winner of the event, Kim will look to defend his title on the final day of competition and claim
his third career PGA Tour victory.
After teeing off on the first hole, Kim started the day with a parade of birdies. He birdied the first and
second holes (both par-4s), and with momentum on his side, he dropped a shot at the fourth (par-4) and sixth (par-4).
He made his first bogey on the eighth (par-3), but immediately followed it up with an eagle on the ninth
(par-5) to turn the tide. With two on the board, Kim drained an eagle putt from about five meters.
After a birdie on the 10th (par-4) and a bogey on the 11th (par-4), Kim birdied the final hole to cut his
deficit. He then birdied the 13th (par-5), 15th (par-4) and 16th (par-5) before sinking a birdie putt on the
18th (par-4) to move to the top of the leaderboard.
Kyung Hoon Lee
(32-CJ) also shaved five strokes off his third round score to move up two spots from tied for sixth to tied
for fourth. Lee carded a 5-under 66 with an eagle and three birdies for a 14-under 199 total.
He is just one stroke off the lead and will be in contention for the title depending on the final round
results. A victory would give Lee his third career PGA Tour victory. 카지노사이트존
