Women’s table tennis secures at least bronze medal in team

No third and fourth place finals, bronze medals in both semifinals

South Korean women’s table tennis has secured a bronze medal in the team event at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

South Korea advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Games Women’s Team Event with a 3-1 match

victory over Hong Kong on Thursday afternoon at the Archer Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China.

Asian Games Table Tennis does not play third and fourth place matches and awards bronze medals to

both teams that lose in the semifinals. This means that the Korean team has secured at least a bronze medal.

They will play Japan, who swept Chinese Taipei 3-0, 토토 in the quarterfinals at 12 p.m. on Aug. 25. South

Korea will play Japan in the semifinals against Korea in their quest for gold.

It was not an easy road to the semifinals. Shin Yubin got off to a shaky start in the first singles, losing to

Du Hoikem with a game score of 1-3.

Fortunately, 스포츠토토 Jeon Ji-hee defeated Joo Cheong-ju 3-1 in the second singles and Seo Hyo-won

defeated Li Ho-ching 3-2 in the third singles. In the fourth singles, Shin Yubin made up for her loss in the

first singles with a 3-0 victory over Joo Cheong-ju.

With at least a bronze medal secured, women’s table tennis has reached the semifinals of the team event

for the second consecutive time following the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
