Goalkeeper David de Gea may be heading to the Saudi Arabian league.
British media outlet ‘Team Talk’ reported on the 18th (KST), “Former Manchester United (Man Utd) goalkeeper De Gea, who became a free agent last month, is preparing a huge move. He is in talks with a Saudi club. A huge deal could be on the table,” it reported.
“Several European clubs are also interested in De Gea, but the wealth and fame offered by the Saudi club will be hard for him to turn down.”
Team Talk didn’t say which clubs De Gea was currently in talks with.
However, “it is possible that De Gea could be linked to Ronaldo (Al Nasr), who has been linked with United in the past.”
Earlier in the day, British outlets TalkSPORT and The Sun also reported De Gea’s move to Saudi Arabia. “Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr is planning to sign De Gea,” they reported.
De Gea, who played for United for 12 years, became a free agent on June 30.
According to TalkSPORT, Al Nasr are preparing a formal offer for De Gea, with a weekly wage of £250,000 (approximately $420,000).
De Gea was one of the people who welcomed Ronaldo back to his “home team” United after he left Serie A side Juventus in 2021. Now, that could change. Ronaldo moved to Saudi League side Al Nasr in January after being released from his contract with United.
De Gea won the Golden Glove last season after keeping 17 clean sheets in the English Premier League. With United manager Eric ten Hagh, 53, leading the way and preferring a younger, more promising goalkeeper than De Gea, De Gea will have to look elsewhere for employment. 파워볼게임
