Pohang strong in second half Taeha drama shakes up K-League

The Pohang Steelers of the K League 1 are creating a “Taeha Drama” (Park Tae-ha + Dae-ha Drama) craze in professional soccer.

Pohang won the 11th round home match of the Hana Bank K League 1 2024 1-0 against Jeonbuk Hyundai on April 4 at the Pohang Steel Yard.

With a 10-match unbeaten run (seven wins and three draws), Pohang (24 points) maintained its lead over rival Ulsan HD (23 points) in the ‘East Coast Derby’.

Pohang nearly drew the match, but defeated Jeonbuk thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Kim Jong-woo.

Last winter, 카지노사이트 Pohang made a surprise appointment of club legend Park Tae-ha to replace Kim Ki-dong, who left for FC Seoul.

However, Park hadn’t been in charge since 2019, so expectations were mixed.

However, the worries proved to be unfounded. Since the start of the season, Park’s Pohang has been on a tear, winning a series of thrilling “theater victories” and taking over the league lead.

As of the 11th round of the K League 1, 15 of Pohang’s 18 goals have come in the second half. They have scored 83% of their goals after halftime, showing a frightening hindsight.

In particular, they scored a whopping six ‘theater goals’ after the 45th minute, just like the last game against Jeonbuk.

This is why fans nicknamed Pohang “Taeha Drama” because they never let go of the reins until the end.

The spearhead of the attack is flanker Jung Jae-hee.

After coming through the ranks at FC Anyang and Jeonnam Dragons, Jung has reached his peak under Park.

After posting double-digit offensive points with seven goals and three assists in 37 games in the 2022 season, he has already piled up seven goals and one assist this season.

He is currently tied for the league lead in goals with Lee Dong-kyung (Gimcheon) and Lee Sang-heon (Gangwon).

Lee Ho-jae (2 goals, 3 assists), 안전놀이터 Kim In-sung, and Kim Jong-woo (2 goals) also share the offensive responsibilities.

Meanwhile, ‘Taeha Drama’ Pohang will look to extend their unbeaten streak to 11 matches when they host Jeju United at Anbang on Nov. 12.
