Manchester United really needs Kim Min-Jae

If there’s one team that really needs Kim Min-Jae (28, Munich), it’s Manchester United.

The Red Devils lost 3-4 to the home team Chelsea in the 31st round of the 2023-24 Premier League at Stamford Bridge in London, England on Friday.

After conceding two early goals, the Red Devils fought back to take a 3-2 lead thanks to a multi-goal performance from Garnacho and another from Fernandes. The lead didn’t last long, however.

United conceded a penalty kick equalizer through Cole Palmer in the 55th minute of the second half, only to see Palmer score again just a minute later. Palmer completed his hat trick.

One of the biggest culprits in United’s defensive lapses was center back Harry Maguire.

Maguire’s poor judgment at crucial moments contributed to the loss.

Japan’s Football Channel said, “Maguire’s defense can only be described as war criminal. Although he is not solely responsible for the defeat, he is not the only one. 안전놀이터 추천 After breaking through the first pressure, the defense was too messy. Three of the four goals were his fault,” he said.

“There were a lot of goals that would not have been conceded if he hadn’t tackled so hard. In the first place, Maguire doesn’t even try to stop dangerous situations. When he switched from right center back to left, he gave too much space and didn’t cover his teammates,” he pointed out.

Maguire’s poor form has made the case for Kim Min-Jae to be brought in again. United came closest to signing Kim last summer, but were intercepted by Munich at the last minute. The Red Devils still have a big soft spot for Kim Min-jae. With Kim relegated to the bench at Munich, the argument for a move is gaining traction.

“Bring back Napoli Kim,” “What’s the point of not signing him sooner rather than later,” “He’s much better than Maguire,” and so on.
