Kevin De Bruyne has been approached by a Saudi Arabian team, but he wants to sign a new contract with Manchester City and retire at the Etihad Stadium.
Football transfer website TransferLive quoted Sam Lee, a reporter for global sports publication The Athletic, as saying on June 26: “The player and his family have no interest in a move to Saudi Arabia. He wants to extend his contract with Manchester City and wants to retire at Manchester City.”
Der Bruyne experienced the Premier League with Chelsea but failed to make a big impact. After returning to Germany, he joined Manchester City in 2015 and became a top-class midfielder. He absorbed Pep Guardiola”s style of soccer and became an indispensable player for City.
He scored 98 goals and provided 161 assists in 366 games for City. In the 2022-23 season, alongside Elling Holland, he helped the club win the second treble in English history (Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League).
He was always a dominant performer, but muscle injuries slowed him down. This season, he was also plagued by muscle injuries, which prevented him from having a perfect season. With one year left on his contract at Manchester City, there were reports of interest from Saudi Arabian teams.

However, Der Bruyne wants to stay with City for the journey, with Kyle Walker as his vice-captain and a moral support system. If the right deal comes along, he could be at the table this summer to renew his contract.
