‘Hwang Ui-jo full-time’ Norwich winless in last six games…

English Professional Football League Championship (Second Division) side Norwich City, featuring international striker Hwang Eui-jo, have failed to escape a winless run of six games despite numerical superiority.

Norwich lost 1-3 at home to Blackburn in the 15th round of the 2023-2024 Championship at Carrow Road in Norwich, England, on Friday (Tuesday).

Hwang Ui-jo started up front in a 4-2-3-1 formation and showed lively movement until the end of the game, constantly creating chances to attack.

Working mainly up front and down the left flank, Hwang had a chance in the 14th minute with his team trailing 0-3 when he fired a right-footed shot from near the penalty arc that went wide of the right post.

In second-half stoppage time, Norwich failed to find the back of the net in the ensuing chaos, as a left-footed shot from the penalty area in front of goal hit the goalkeeper’s knee and bounced away.

Football statistics site Footmob gave Hwang a rating of 7.3.

He was the second-best rated player on the team after Gabriel Sarah, who scored a late consolation goal in stoppage time.

On the day, Norwich poured onslaught on the Blackburn goal with numerical superiority, but were unable to turn the game on its head as Blackburn stood firm.

Norwich conceded an early goal in the eighth minute through Blackburn’s Tyrais Dolan, before adding a second in the 15th minute through Sami Suzmodics.

Then, four minutes into the second half, Suzmodics scored a brace to put the game out of reach.

Nine minutes into the second half, Blackburn’s Scott Hutton was sent off for a direct free-kick for a deep tackle on Norwich’s Onel Hernandez, denying him a golden attacking opportunity, and Norwich capitalised on their numerical advantage to push Blackburn back for the remainder of the half.

However, Norwich were only able to pull a goal back in stoppage time when Sarah fired home with a straightforward right-footed finish from a second ball that was saved by the keeper.

The loss was Norwich’s fourth consecutive defeat and their first in their last six games, with one draw and five defeats.

Norwich remained 17th in the league with 17 points (5 wins, 2 draws and 8 losses). 토토사이트
