If So Chae-won wins the final, Korea will produce a second consecutive gold medalist in this event,

following Choi Bo-min at the 2014 Incheon Games.

The compound individual competition was not held at the 2018 Jakarta/Palembang competition.

So Chae-won will compete for the gold medal with India’s Jyoti Surekha Bennam on the 7th.

The men’s compound team secured a bronze medal in the individual event.

Joo Jae-hoon

In the semifinals held on this day, Korea’s Joo Jae-hoon (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power) and Yang Jae-won (Managing Director) were both eliminated,

resulting in a ‘family battle’ in the third place match.

In the semifinals, Joo Jae-hoon lost to India’s Abhishek Verma 145-147,

Yang Jae-won also lost to India’s Oyas Praveen Deotale 146-150.

Joo Jae-hoon and Yang Jae-won will compete for the bronze medal on the 7th.

This is the first time that Korean compound archery has won a men’s individual medal at the Asian Games.

He failed to win a medal at the 2014 Incheon Games,

the compound individual event was not held at the 2018 Jakarta/Palembang Games.

Korea won its first men’s gold medal in this event in the team event at the Jakarta-Palembang Games.

Unlike Korea, which boasts overwhelming skills in recurve, an Olympic sport,

skills in compounding are standardized around the world.
