The South Korean baseball team, competing at the Hangzhou Asian Games, swept Japan in the Super Round to boost its chances of reaching the final.

Led by head coach Ryu Jung-il, the team defeated Japan 2-0 in the first game of the Super Round today (May 5) at the Baseball and Softball Sports Center 1 in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, China, behind a six-inning no-hitter from starting pitcher Park Se-woong and a two-RBI performance from No. 4 hitter Noh Shi-hwan.

Korea came into the Super Round with a 1-1 record after losing to Chinese Taipei in the group stage.
