North Korea defeated Indonesia 1-0 in the final Group F match of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games men’s soccer tournament on Thursday in Jinhua, China, thanks to Kim Yoo-sung’s 40th-minute winner.

With three wins in the group stage, North Korea topped Group F and advanced to the Round of 16. They

boasted a solid defense, keeping a clean sheet while scoring four goals in three games.

round and 4-0 against Thailand in the second.

Regardless of the outcome of this evening’s final match against Bahrain, the Korean team has already

secured a spot in the round of 16 by topping their group.

Hwang’s Round of 16 opponent will be Group F runner-up Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan dramatically moved

into second place with a 4-1 win over Chinese Taipei at the same time.

The round of 16 match between South Korea and Kyrgyzstan will be held at the same venue on July 27 at 8:30 p.m. KST.

Indonesia finished third in their group, but they also advanced to the round of 16 due to their superiority over the other three groups.
